This place is a hidden gem in the world. Amazing camping facilities at the base of three glaciers and in site of the largest marble seam in the world. Recardo and Recardo Jr have so much love for the place it shows. Very accommodating for every situation. We have been here many times and will continue to come back. It's one of those things you have to see to believe.

We spent 3 nights at the La Nutria campsite. Lidia and Ricardo are excellent hosts with heart and soul and their friendliness is hard to beat. The campsite is a green oasis of peace where you can relax and enjoy nature. We also very much appreciated the private bathroom, where you can take a hot shower at any time. The cafeteria serves excellent coffee beans, homemade cakes (the pie de lemon was absolutely fantastic) and the best churrasco sandwich we have ever eaten. We felt very comfortable and can recommend La Nutria 100%.

Nice camping out of the village and on the road to valley exploradores. The guy is super welcoming. Can be closed in off season so be sure to write to the guy, or have a plan b (he just accepted us even if he was technically closed). Shower is basic and not super super functional (because it was also technically closed) but the guy is super helpful. Wifi and hot water.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cafeteria La Nutria. So much so that we stayed an additional night. With a lot of land for vehicles, campers and tent camping the campground included private bathrooms and hot showers for your group, and a super cute hand built enclosed kitchenette (with a fireplace) for those cold nights when you need to keep warm by a fire. The room has outlets to charge your electronics, a cooktop and tables to relax after a long day of travel. We loved all the animals running around- dogs, sheep and chickens. The grounds have an amazing view from of the glacier. The owners Ricardo & Ricardo, (father & son) were super sweet, willing to help with whatever we needed. The cafeteria had amazing freshly ground coffee for us (cortados), farm fresh eggs from their chickens and homemade bread and jam for us in the morning. Can’t forget about homemade lemon pie that the dad makes. Getting to know the owners and discussing that we’ve been dying to grill, our host Ricardo was willing to make us some calf ribs with sides of potatoes and homegrown salad just for us! What a treat! Being super knowledgeable in their town and different parts of Patagonia really helped us in other parts of the region and made it so much more enjoyable. We really appreciated everything they did for us. 1000% would recommend!

Three friends and I stopped in at Camping La Nutria in January 2024 during a road trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is spectacular, practically in the shadow of the glacier @ kilometer 20 along the Carretera Austral. Es un lugar precioso. Ricardo and Lidia, the architects and hosts @ La Nutria, welcomed us in warmly, even as their supper rush hour was beginning. We arrived on a particularly rainy afternoon and Ricardo invited us to enjoy the shelter of the comedor (dining room) where we sipped the most flavorful artisanal juice of our entire drive: corinto & wild strawberry, served with local fruit tarts, all made in house with love. When freed from his duties as waiter, Ricardo gave us the grand tour of the place, which includes a spacious and generously furnished refugio-quincho with running water, fireplace and gas stove for cooking and eating, private bathroom with piping hot water for each overnight party, and many potential campsites for tents. With care he directed us to a group of tent sites beneath the shelter of some dense foliage, where we hardly even needed the rain fly for our tents. He even provided a rake to sweep the forest floor (of animal droppings from his livestock) before setting up camp. Fast internet vis Starlink! A total surprise. This place is also a working farm and Ricardo built the entire campus, including the carved by chainsaw outdoor furniture and all the buildings. Truly impresionante. Ricardo also speaks a bit of English, enough to manage if you don't speak much Spanish. He also knows a lot about the local area - interpretive guide - Flora, Fauna and scientific studies. After just one single night's stay we felt like family. ¡Muchísimas Gracias a Lidia y Ricardo por todo! Fue precioso quedarnos acá y seguramente nos gustaría volver tan pronto posible.

Ricardo and Lidia welcomed us into their camping and cafeteria with a lot of love. We stayed multiple nights at the camping, the view onto the three glacier was breathtaking! The garden of the camping is a little piece of paradise with sheep and chicken wandering around. (Ask Lidia for some happy eggs!) During your stay in the camping you have a clean privat bathroom and a shared common area with a kitchen and a fire place. Ricardo was kind enough to spend a day fishing with us and I cought my first trouts! All in all amazing Location, if you are in the area a must, do not miss it! Even if it's just for a lemon pie in the cafeteria.

We had a very pleasant stay at the campground. There are very clean private bathrooms, a nice common area with a gas stove and a fire pit. The surrounding is very idyllic: beautiful mountains, a wide grass area with chickens and sheep. Ricardo and his family are very welcoming and lovely people. Price is still 10.000 pesos/ per adult. If you don‘t want to camp, make sure you at least stop for a homemade cake and coffee at their nice café.
